Burrito Bowl Recipe

The classic burrito bowl is an easy and simple recipe that can be modified based on your taste and ingredients.

Protein, Fat & Carb


  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
  • 3 bell peppers
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 jar salsa
  • 3 cup rice, cooked
  • 1 can(15oz.) black beans, drained & cleaned
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped


  1. Pre-heat oven to 400F
  2. Line a baking pan with foil
  3. Place on chicken, peppers and onion and drizzle with oil
  4. Sprinkle taco seasoning on chicken while sprinkling salt and pepper over peppers and onions
  5. Pour salsa on top of chicken
  6. Bake for 35 minutes
  7. Rest chicken for 10 minutes and then slice or cube chicken
  8. Divide into 4 portions and combine with black beans, corn, salsa, cheddar cheese, baked peppers, rice and chicken.
  9. Garnish with cilantro and lemon
  10. Serve or store the rest


You can use guacamole instead of salsa as well, after baking

You can top with sour cream if you'd like to add a bit more fat

Steak or pork are also a great alternative to chicken


Buy pre-cooked meats, combine with salsa and other ingredients to make this recipe in a few minutes
